2023 has been another action-packed, highly rewarding year for us at Mummu Cycling. We kicked off our season as per usual at the first World Tour race of the year, the Santos Tour Down Under, and as always, it proved to be an enormous success. This year’s tour offered up some exciting new changes to the route thanks to Race Director and Mummu Cycling partner, Stuey O’Grady. Key modifications included a short and sharp opening prologue and a thrilling final stage up Mount Lofty. We were lucky to be joined by a fantastic, easy-going group of guests up for a good time and many-a-ride adventure through beautiful Adelaide. Topped off with some incredible daily race viewing. Overall, we had a highly memorable, fun-filled week jam packed with action for each day on tour. It was an honour to be right within the thick of it to witness some historic firsts for the race!
There's something so unique and special about the Santos Tour Down Under that guarantees a top time on tour and we are excited to be heading back to Adelaide in January once again for more TDU entertainment, delivering a 7-day experience that will cover all the best action! Check it out, here.
Next up, we were off to Belgium to the epic as ever Spring Classics all set to deliver our signature 11-day Cobbled Classics trip led by 2007 Paris-Roubaix champion, Stuart O’Grady. Our cobbled classics experience is designed around two of the biggest classics on the calendar: The Tour of Flanders and Paris-Roubaix. On this year’s tour we also included another popular Flanders Classic that’s been run since as early as 1907 – Scheldeprijs.
We began the week on a high in Flanders, diving straight into the cobbles with the Ronde van Vlaanderen Sportif. A fantastic opportunity to ride the very same roads and iconic cobbled sectors/climbs the pros race the next day, all on closed roads and amongst thousands of other classics fans. A day out on the bike to remember was topped with the incredible opportunity to watch the best male and female cyclists in the world battle it out over the fiercely challenging course. All from our epic hospitality set up right up one of the key climbs of the race; the Oude Kwaremont. Safe to say, the atmosphere was on point!
After a huge opening to the tour, the week highlights went on to include a memorable ride with the legendary Johan Museeuw (3 x Flanders and 3 x Paris-Roubaix winner) up the Muur van Geraardsbergen and along the roads of Flanders past, a ride into the stunning city of Brugge, watching Scheldeprijs roadside right amongst the thick of the Classics atmosphere and onto Roubaix!
There, we rounded things out on a high by tackling the Paris-Roubaix Challenge Ride– a truly special opportunity to ride along the iconic roads of Paris-Roubaix and tackle those infamous pavé sectors only dreamed of when watching the pros on the big screen. Challenge accepted! Our tour then came to a spectacular close watching the Queen of the Classics live from the Trouée d'Arenberg before making our way to the velodrome to see an epic finale from VIP finish line hospitality. It doesn’t get much better for the avid classics fan and in 2024 we are proud to be delivering a similar cobble-mad experience.
Up for the bumpy ride? Join us, here.
Here’s what a few of our 2023 guests had to say:
“Fantastic trip to the Spring Classics. Far exceeded my expectations and whilst you read about the exclusive access, hosted by Stuart O'Grady to experience that was just a dream come true. Stuart was there with us every day and sharing his stories from inside the peloton. Wonderful professional team that cared for their guests. Highly recommend it”. - Don McDonald
“I fully recommend Mummu Cycling to anyone that wants to experience a cycling tour either as a rider or spectator. The professionalism and friendliness shown from the staffing group made this trip very enjoyable and I will have memories that will last a lifetime. I went on the Spring Classic's Tour 2023, riding on the iconic roads and climbs, watching the races from some of the best vantage points is something I will never forget. The inside access and meeting the most famous people in cycling history was just surreal. Thank you to everyone at Mummu Cycling, my next cycling holiday will definitely be with you.” - Chris Neate
Following a brief break, we were already gearing up again en route to Bella Italia to deliver our 10-day Giro d’Italia tour from the beautiful Como, through to the almighty Dolomites – hosted by none other than Cadel Evans, 2011 Tour de France overall winner and no stranger to Giro success!
We were thrilled to be joined on tour by an enthusiastic, up-for-everything group of people ensuring an exceptionally smooth, enjoyable 10 days on tour for all.
As a Premium Tour Operator of the Giro we have unprecedented access to hospitality zones at the start, finish and beyond and can offer exclusive opportunities to ride on closed course roads, across the finish line and onto the podium, ensuring a Giro riding and spectating experience like no other. This year was no exception, and throughout the trip we were thrilled to take our guests into the race’s inner sanctum to witness some special race-shaping moments. When not completely absorbed in the race itself, we tackled some incredible rides led by Cadel, battled our way up iconic climbs and of course, indulged in exceptional Italian food and wine as we went. When in Italy, it’s an absolute essential to embrace the incredible gastronomy! To round out a fantastic trip, our final day on tour was spent lapping it up in hospitality to watch the penultimate mountain Time Trial from the best seat in the house. Cheers all round to that!
We cannot wait to get back to Italy next May and are excited to be delivering an 8 day ‘Giro d’Italia Finale’ experience that will include 5 live stages through the race’s final week. From the last key mountain battles through the Dolomites, onto Rome for a frantic city final – it's certain to be an epic. View the complete trip itinerary here.
Come July, our team were rejuvenated and geared up for a huge three weeks touring France for the grandest of them all, Le Tour!
At this year’s race, we delivered seven tours, in addition to single-day hospitality experiences. Each tour unique from the next, offering up something for everyone; from the avid rider to the non-riding spectator, the passionate food and wine lover and beyond. We got underway in Bilbao for the spectacular Grand Départ before venturing on to the Pyrenees and into France for some early mountain action. The peloton then went on to travel down to Bordeaux where our Tour des Vins commenced. A key time to embrace the exceptional food and wine as the race travelled over vineyard dotted countryside through to the heart of the Massif Central. From there it was all about the Alps where we watched some incredible mountain battles and conquered iconic col after col before venturing onto Paris for the big final showdown. We were thrilled to be there every step of the way, joined by guests from all over the world on each tour.
The Tour de France is our biggest event on the calendar as we largely optimise being one of a select few long-time Official Tour Operators of the race. Our Tour Operator status ensures we have the utmost best access to not only watching the Tour de France from incredible hospitality locations, but also delivering once in a lifetime experiences like riding along the closed race route, across the finish line, up onto the podium and the list goes on. Our partnership with the Tour is one of a kind and their commitment to designing the absolute best VIP experiences for fans ensures some truly memorable times on our TDF tours. 2023 proving a great hit with our guests departing on cloud nine surprised at the level of access they received to the world’s biggest professional bike race.
“If you’re a cycling fan their tours are a must. You will not get access like they give you anywhere else. Their Tour de France trip is a trip of a lifetime opportunity.” - Steven Harris (2023 TDF guest).
To make a huge three weeks on tour seamless, we have our fantastic team of staff to thank. From the hours on end of behind-the-scenes logistics planning and designing of tours, to their flawless on-the ground operations and hard work. Thank you to all involved in making this and all trips this season an immense success! And a special shout out to our pro hosts; long-time Mummu Cycling partner, Stuart O’Grady and recent addition, 2011 Tour de France overall champion, Cadel Evans. Having two highly decorated former pros with us on tour, just takes each experience to a whole new level for our guests and we are proud to continue to build and grow our team and tours with a strong focus on our pro connections.
“If you're a cycling nut like me, you'll love every minute. Stuart O'Grady is a Cycling legend, and with his own credentials and company, he delivers a VIP service that blew my mind at the TDF 2023. Cheers Stuart & Mummu Team...” Eric Frei (2023 TDF guest).
Our 2024 trips will include the likes of Evans, O’Grady, as well as fellow Aussie legend, Richie Porte who only recently retired from pro cycling in 2022. We are proud to have launched our full tour line-up following an extremely exciting route reveal by the A.S.O in October uncovering an incredibly demanding three weeks of racing with some historic firsts for the tour; starting in Italy and concluding in Nice, marking the only time the race will ever finish outside of Paris.
Once again, our tours will cover the best of the race from day 1 to 21 and since release have been selling quickly! If you’re toying with the idea of joining us next July, we highly recommend securing your place now before it’s too late.
“Well organised tours with exceptional VIP offerings. Highly recommended for any cycling fan.” - Adrian Bell (2023 TDF guest).
After a huge July, we enjoyed some much-needed time to reset before getting set for the final Grand Tour of the season, the Vuelta. No complaints heading off to sunny Spain to enjoy some incredible food and wine, ride our bikes over glorious Spanish terrain and catch the best of the Vuelta’s final stages into Madrid all on a Bespoke tour, specifically designed for private clients.
